Here's a new one for us. When dimensioning, we add the centerline and diameter symbols (<MOD-CL> & <MOD-DIAM>) and the symbol does not appear. I.e. the dimension looks like <MOD-CL> 12'-6". Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix?

Answer1. The diameter symbol can appear as '<MOD-DIAM>' if the ‘gtol.sym’ file is missing or corrupt or the path to the Symbol Library File is invalid.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
a. Go to ‘System Options’ > ‘File Locations’b. In the ‘Show folders for’ list, click on ‘Symbol Library File’.
The typical folder path is: ‘C:\ProgramData\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS [20XX]\lang\english’(If the path is pointing to the previous version of the software, update the path to point to the current version).
c. Open that folder and make sure that the ‘gtol.sym’ exists. d. If you suspect that the file is corrupt, replace the file with a working ‘gtol.sym’ file.
2. If the problem is affecting multiple users, rename the following registry key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Solidworks\SOLIDWORKS 20xx\ExtReferences] "Symbol Library Folders". This will reset the values for all users
3. If an Administrative Image was used to install the SOLIDWORKS software, the location of the symbol file could be locked for all users if the SOLIDOWRKS 20XX.sldsetting file system is used.
Check you settings for File Locations and make sure the path listed for your Symbol Library File contains the GTOL.sym file.

For the diameter symbol have you tried holding down Alt and typing 0216 (Ø)?
That's a different symbol, and doesn't match what SOLIDWORKS uses:
I was looking for something else and ran across this: https://blogs.solidworks.com/tech/2017/03/remove-mod-diam-solidworks-design.html#_ga=2.7767802.956292176.1582046561-cd0a… . Maybe it will help.
