Unable to create reference plane in Solidworks Pro

Unable to create reference plane in Solidworks Pro 2021 as the plane selection is grayed out! As I am a new user, is there a way to access the plane feature?

PLANE icon is greyed out in the Reference Geometry toolbar. Also the AXIS, POINT and COORDINATE SYSTEM icons are also greyed out and inaccessible. Being a newcomer to Solidworks please advise how I can enable these features
