Hi all, I'm looking for a macro to rebuild and save all drawings in an assembly. I would assume there is already something outthere, but have not been able to locate it.
Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
This is a tricky one because many companies save the drawings under the same name and location as the parts (best for this request), some save the drawing as the configuration name in various locations (more difficult, but doable), and some save them under a completely different drawing number (worst case scenario).
Which category does your company fall into?
There is also a warning that saving the file without reviewing for drawing errors may result in unknown errors submitted to production.
Thanks Casey, we fall under the first categoty "same name and location as the parts". Regarding your comment about possible errors, that is something I'll have to check and deal with if and when it comes up.
Migth also be worth mentioning that not all part in an assembly have drawings per sé.
Recently I have add a new feature to run macro on batch mode in my program called "Bibotac". https://forum.solidworks.com/thread/199624
You can now run a simple macro in batch mode:
I wrote a macro that you can download to test with "Bibotac" .
It's a very basic macro with rebuild , zoom to fit and save function.
You can watch the video tutorial through the following link: https://youtu.be/p-xEWULWGLs
This new feature is still in beta version but after few tests seems to be fully operational.
It does not work for me.
This feature is only available with the beta version.
See picture to request this version from Bibotac website:
