Complex surface part to sheetmetal, POSSIBLE??

Hello users-

I have two complex sheetmetal part that were created using surfacing techniques. I have attempted to use the convert to sheetmetal function but I havn't been able to have any success. I have a fabricator that is requesting a flat-pattern of the geometry. Any tips or advice would be great. Take a look at the jpegs, and if I need to upload the working models I will do so.

usually it's the fabricator's job to create the flat.

anyway the top pic, forget it.
the bottom pic, lofted bend (transition only, tube is seperate part).

the flats suk for lofted bends though.

Have you tried the insert bends command instead of convert to sheet metal? It seems to be a common theme around here that if the convert command doesn't work or results in strange geometry then the insert bends command will generally fix the issue
