I am dimensioning a new detail drawing and as usual, the dimensions snap to something to align themselves.  The problem that has my dander up is that they snap to some invisible target, but will not snap to the neighboring dimensions.  Is there any way to get the dimensions to snap to align with each other instead of the tree down the street?  I know I can do it manually, using the align function, but the point of snapping is to save us steps, is it not?
