I am trying to find parts within an assembly. But all I have when searching is the description, which is in a configuration specific property of that part . How do I quickly find that part, even if it's in a suppressed sub-assembly?
Search Criteria for Advanced Component Selection
Try typing in the search box at the top of the tree.
May not work for suppressed.
You can also use Assembly Visualization and add a custom column with whatever you want (Description, custom properties etc):
Then you can sort to make finding what you want easier.
That is promising, but I can't seem to search with it. I type a word that I see is on one of the parts, and everything disappears from the visualization list.
I never said you could search. Just sort. But finding it in a sorted list is faster than an unsorted list. And you get the config specific properties s well.
The search field at the top only looks in the file name column.
Doesn't work when what your looking for is a configuration property.
Set your Tree Display to Show Component Description. Now you can use the filter that Kevin mentioned.
