We have several standard corner reliefs. To date we have not show these corner reliefs on the model and have just dropped in a non parametric "Block" on the drawing with dimensions and indicated on the part where the reliefs are.
I'm not super crazy about this approach for a couple reasons so I would like to create these corner reliefs as some sort of feature that we could drop in and use in the model.
In the perfect world it would work like this.
1) Drag the desired corner relief into the model and onto the desired sketch plane.
2) select edge A and B and the relief would be located
3) Revolve cut....done.
I do not have a whole lot of experience in SW with library features so I'm struggling. I created the feature and saved it in the library. however when I place it I have two problems.
1) it's always the same direction on the plane. If the relief goes left or right the feature is always normal to the plane it placed on and may not be the correct direction.
2) for the life of me I can not figure out how to change the insertion point or attempt to define the insertion point as the intersection of the two edges. I can move the block around manually and get what I want and that may be the best I can do....but it would be super nice if I could do that upon placement. Below are a couple pics of what I'm trying to do and associated problems.
Desire outcome.
I can place the feature from the library but can't figure out how to insert it in the right position or switch it's direction. This one should be "Mirrored" to what it is and I would like to have the vertical line collinear with the vertical wall and the horizontal line collinear with the shaft diameter. Any thoughts, different approaches or suggestions on this would be appreciated. Thanks,
