Does anyone know why Perimeter Boss only allows for Finish and not Rough-Finish? I tried adding it in TechDB but there's no Rough mill operation to add. Only Contour mill. I could do two contour mill passes (one for roughing) but if I sort the operation the roughing operation will not be sorted with the rest of the roughing passes. I'm new to Camworks, maybe I'm missing something.

Depending on the stock size you can also create a sketch outside the part and then use a pocket feature with the outside of the part as an island and then use Roughing strategies to finish the perimeter. Keep in mind the roughing will depend on stock size and tool used. In some cases, I have used this method in the past to use Volumill to rough the outside of the part vs. a perimeter feature.

By definition the Boss option tells it to only perform a contour operation and not a roughing cycle (the alternative is an open pocket perimeter which couples both). Boss perimeters are handy for routers, lasers, and any other situation where you want the finished product to 'fall out' of the rest of stock.
If you'd like more control you can edit the contouring operation to add spring passes or offset semi-roughing passes before your final finishing operation.
