I can no longer open a part file from the assembly drawing's BOM. It's not even available under "customize menu". Am I missing something?
Did you select the assembly view to insert the BOM,
"Selected Entity" should show BOM table
Check your BOM template file
Those look like right-click options for an Assembly. None of them seem appropriate to right-clicking on a BOM cell. I don't know what's going on there.
Is your assembly loaded lightweight?
Nothing is lightweight...
Are you able to post the problem file or duplicate the error in another file and upload here to verify?

You only sent the Assembly files, without the Part files. Without those files the Assembly will open blank, with the Parts suppressed. Please Pack and Go the Assembly to a zip file and post it here.
I am utterly befuddled. I used pack-and-go to make that other zip file. I checked my original zip file and it still has the part files. I might have dragged/copied the zip file before SW finished making it ??? Whatever the case, here is another copy that should have all the files.
Have you tried swapping back to the assembly and then back to the drawing to see if it "resets" it?
Yes, I just tried switching to the assembly and then back to the drawing. It did not "reset" it.
I believe you must right click a row for the open model command.
Your image shows a cell selected.
Try right clicking the row number.
I just tried right-clicking a row number and still did not get the option to open the part.
It's working fine with me
If you are still having the same issue, it might be a bug or some corrupted files
Try to install the program and select the option "Repair"
Hope this works...
What version of Solidworks are you using?
I tested with Solidworks 2019 sp5 and I could open the file from the BOM in both drawing and assembly environment.
I've had issues in the past where all the available options wouldn't be there when right-clicking on a BOM or cut list cell, but never all the wrong options like you're seeing. I hate to ask, but have you re-booted your computer since this started? And if yes, have you tried it with another file to see if you get the same behavior?
