Why solidworks rebuild the assembly when opening the drawings? Is there a way to use drawings that only load the assembly without rebuilding?
When opening a drawing, SOLIDWORKS has to rebuild certain parts of the assembly to make sure nothing has changed, otherwise you could make changes to the assembly and after opening the drawing the drawing wouldn't show any changes. If you have 2020 then you can open drawings in detailing mode which will not rebuild anything. Some functionality will also not exist however. If you have 2019 or lower you can open the drawing in quick view mode but this does not allow you to make any changes.
I'm using 2020, I will try using detailing mode. Sometimes is hard for me, I'm software developer, to understand why can't they have a flag to manage this behaving, seems they took the longer path to solve an issue (the quick and cheap way).
