How to add "Geometric tolerance" with linear dimensions(i.e Location dimensions) in MBD?
mbd dimensions solidworks mbd
Please refer to the below image
Never had to do it myself but looks like if you drag and drop the geometric tolerance box over the dimension it will lock to the dim as on your picture. subsequently you could drag it away to decouple from the dimension.
In order to have the positional tolerance attach to the linear dimension, you need to make sure the linear dimension was created as a width feature.
Only then, you can create the Geometric Tolerance as normal, it should be attached to the dimension.
Thanks, this helps a lot but linear dimensions and geometric tolerance is separated(Both have separate leaders). Not like combined size dimensions and geometric tolerance.
If you already have width feature created for the dimension, delete it from the annotation tree along with the dimension and the positional tolerance.
First, select Size Dimension
select one of the faces and created a Width feather with another face
Highlight the Linear Dimension, then select Geometric Tolerance
Then as you enter the geometric tolerance information, you should be able to see the position being attached below the linear dimension.
