when trying to save a drawing as a pdf from solidworks nothing happens... no pdf is created and there is no error message... just ziltch...
if I print to pdf then all works fine - just SAVE AS does not work
anyone else have this issue???
It works here on solidworks 2020 sp4. So it should work on your box too.
What settings did you use? You can find a button on the bottom of the save dialogbox.
Here are mine (didn't change anything from the default)
I'm using 2020 SP2 but I only use the save-as for 3D PDFs. It takes some time but the result is kind of cool.
If I'm doing a drawing I will only *print* to PDF and never save a drawing as a PDF.
Can you try saving as PDF from print settings?
If the problem is resolved this way, you can return to the default settings from the registry.
Can you try to turn of the CAM and/or 3dconnexion addin?
Completely out of curiosity are you saving it to a PDM? I've been told by IT that the PDM has additional "Plug ins" and PDF is one of them.
What happens to us is if we try to directly save, print etc a PDF from anything directly to the PDM it does not show up in a PDM explorer...but it's there. If you open Adobe and look at the same directory you can see it.
What we have to do is to save PDF's locally and then copy them to the PDM. We even get the error of "That file already exists" when you try and copy the PDF to the same place you printed it to. You have to replace the "Existing" PDF in order for it to show up in the PDM explorer.
