Solidworks does a marvelous job of projecting features of a part in a drawing, yet when I create a partial section view I cannot remove the feature lines in the projected view (Ones that would not be shown when cut away). I am an Autocad convert, Autocad had an 'EXPLODE' feature that made everything 'EXPLODED' editable. I am sure Solidworks has something similar, but that is unknown to this old man. In the attached file see the RH view of the body, I want to remove the extended lines of the 'FLANGE'. Please point me in the right direction.
Hello,
We can't open a Drawing without the model (or models) it's referencing, but I'll try to help anyway. I'm not at all sure I followed what you're trying to do (my fault), but you can right-click on a component in a drawing view of an Assembly and select "Show/Hide > Hide Component" to hide the Part in that one drawing view (red arrow below). Another option is to select the "Hide/Show Edges" icon (purple arrow) and hide individual edges, but it sounds like the first one will do what you want.
If I completely misunderstood, please Pack and Go the Drawing to a zip file (How can I create a new Assembly or Drawing similar to an existing one? ) and post it here.
