Part Template fixed K-Factor value

Hello,

Is there any way to set a fixed K-Factor value? From what I know it looks like it's using the last value used. But If I somehow overwrite it by mistake, it will use a different K-Factor value without me noticing it.

The only success I had was when I created a new part with sheet metal feature and saved it as a part template.

See the picture bellow, but when I then tried to open a part saved as STEP, I got an error message saying: ''The selected template already has a body so cannot be used for this function. Please choose a different template.''

If I delete the sheet metal feature from a part template, the K-Factor will no longer be fixed value.

Thanks in advance for any kind of help.

Sounds like your new template is being used as the default template - which I guess isn't what you want.

Hi,

as I can see, you have a material pre-defined in your template.

What I use is, the possibility to add a SheetMetal table to this material. So whenever a SM feature is started in this part, the pre-defined table will be used and the included k-factor will be assigned.

From what I understand, I need to use gauge table with predefined thickness and radiuses right? I would like to sticks just to the K-Factor value.

Btw this options doesn't seems to be in SW2018.

I saw no indication of the version 2018 in your start post...

There is no way to store *just* the k-factor in your template file. Only the way, you've found with the SM-entry in the FeatureManager.

Yeah sorry, my bad I forgot to mention that.

Then I guess I should just hope I won't rewrite the K-Factor value by mistake. In my opinion it should be included under: Option > Document option > Sheet metal, like all the other settings.
