Open a specific file project "collection"?

A cad system I once used (that sadly died a long slow death) had a function where while you were working with several files open you could save that "work group" of files as a project name and when you shut the CAD down, you were offered the chance to open that work group again.

I see no function like that in solidworks?

It makes it easy to drop one project to work on another, and also easy to shut SW down and restart and pick up where you left off in the"unlikely event of performance degrading over time" (LOL).

Lack of this functionality means I often leave SW open overnight so I can pick up in the morning with all the same files open which of course eventually (lets say quite soon really) leads to performance issues.

Is there such a function? I imagine it might be possible to write a macro to do it?

recent files list is so so awfully short, and doesn't list files that weren't saved that session - all sorts of shortcomings compared to what I had in the 1990s
