I made a comment in a thread about this but figured it was probably worthwhile spreading the word to a wider audience:

For those people that need a NON-COMMERCIAL SolidWorks license you should join the Experimental Aircraft Association (eaa.org), even if you have no interest in airplanes. Annual membership is only $40 and includes a seat of SolidWorks Educational Premium, which includes Simulation, Visualize, and a bunch of other expensive modules. 

Note: I don't have any association with the EAA (other than being a member myself) just passing the word on.
