The standalone C# app that I'm writing opens, rebuilds, and saves SLDDRW and SLDPRT files. The app shows that all of my files have a file version of 3100[2006/4]. I'm currently running SolidWorks 2018. How can I upgrade these files to the latest version?
Simple... Open, rebuild, save.
I've run my app in the same PDM folder in a sandbox vault 5 or 6 times. These files have all been rebuilt and saved, but the SolidWorks API still shows that their file version is 3100[2006/4]. Is there anything else I could try?
Why not use the file version upgrade utility that comes with PDM? It is with the install files in the \SWPDMClient\Support\File Version Upgrade folder

The File Version Upgrade Utility actually caused the problem I'm now trying to fix. When I ran it, MOD_DIAM appeared all of my drawings instead of the diameter symbol. I fixed what had caused SolidWorks to lose the diameter symbol, but all of my drawings still had to be opened, rebuilt, and saved individually. I tried the File Version Upgrade Utility again after fixing SolidWorks, and it didn't fix the drawings.
Sorry to hear that. When you open the files after running your program, does it say the file is older version?
Now that I know where to look, it shows that the files have been updated to SolidWorks 2018.
How are you reading the version? The VersionHistory method returns an array containing every version that the file has ever been saved in.

I was only looking at the first index of the array returned by the VersionHistory method. I dumped out everything and found that the last index showed that the files had been upgraded to SolidWorks 2018. Thanks.
