Delete confirmation is invisible

I'm having an issue with my SolidWorks 2019 SP5.

When I try to delete anything from the feature tree (feature, sketch, part, etc.) I do not see the delete confirmation dialogue box. But it's still there, somewhere. I have to press the enter key to proceed. Clicking anywhere on the SolidWorks window will make the "ding" sound you get from not clicking on the dialogue box.

I do not see any new windows popped up on the Windows task bar, or by pressing alt-tab to see the available windows.

It's not a result of hiding the delete confirmation. It's still waiting for me to confirm the delete, but that window is not visible.

Any help would be appreciated!

You work on one or two monitors? Maybe this window is outside main screen? Maybe before you work on two monitors and change it?

  I have multiple monitors, but even when I go back to just one it's not visible.
  
  I do see the outline of a box briefly appear at the top of my main screen (about 10 ms) but it doesn't stay.
  
  I've also tried changing the screen resolution to get it to pull any stray windows back onside, but no luck either.

    4K monitors can cause problems.

Is it possible you clicked the "Don't show again" box accidently?
If that happened I would assume (have not tried it) if you just hit the Enter Key (like you would do if you saw the dialog box where the YES button is highlighted) then it would delete the item and return control to you.
If this is the case, you need to go into your Tools menu / "Systems Options/ and go to the section for "Messages/Errors/Warnings", find the "Confirm Delete" message and de-select it as an item to not show the message again.

  Yea, I looked in the Deleted Messages window and it wasn't there.
  
  So I figured it out!
  
  It was moved off the screen and here's how I had to move it back:
  Try to delete a feature, raising the delete confirmation box somewhere off screen.
  Press Alt+space (then release) to bring up a small window and press 'm' to select move.
  Press of the arrow keys to move the box (I didn't see anything happen doing this)
  Then press Enter. Windows realizes that the window isn't on the screen and brings it back.

  I think then SW would automatically delete items (without Enter key). In this case, a confirmation (Enter) is needed, so somewhere "there is" this window.

Hi,

If the dialog box is really hidden somewhere, there is a way to not "show" up again in an invisible way( don't know how to explain it better ;-)

As you can see on the image Rick posted the "Don't show again" check mark has D underlined. The yes button has Y underlined. That means that you can mimic the behavior of clicking on them by using the ALT button. This is standard Windows behavior and can be useful in the case your mouse won't work with you.

So Alt D and Alt Y should respectively mark the check mark an click the Yes button. as a result the confirm delete dialog box will not show up again(in the background in your case) because it will be added to the list of messages you don't want anymore.

Hi Michael

Hit Alt - Spacebar

This will open a menu

m

then hit M for Move

Now you can use the arrow keys to move the dialog..

but I think it also transfers control to the mouse cursor at this point.

This is a windows trick not solidworks so you practise on any old window.

Hi,
if nothing will do, then try to reset the SWX settings. At first "Customize.." the Menu and Toolbar settings and use the lower left "Reset To Defaults" button. If this won't help, try to reset all settings with "Options" / "System Options" / "Reset". Please backup your setting before this using the SWX Settings Wizard.
