I get this message when I close the application and it won't go away.
Posting in both thread locations:
This looks related to an Office365 update breaking functionality related to the CAM add-in(which uses Access for it's TechDB).
The real fix we've seen so far is to install the following Access runtime redistributable from Microsoft.
AccessDatabaseEngine_x64.exe from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255
I got the same 32b error message. turns out all my office apps are 64b except for onedrive. onedrive is still on 32b and MS hasn't released a 64b version - for 4 years now!!! i'm still having the problem. no idea how to fix it so i'll stay on watching this thread.
I simply reinstalled SW2020 without the CAM, works fine now.
I have this issue but don't have office 365.
Have it or running/using it? Office 365 is built into Windows 10. Either way, use the fix mentioned above to update the AccessDatabaseEngine exe. which is also a core of Windows 10.
Thank you Alex,
I reinstall OS because of this problem, but it happened again today. I fixed problem.
Thanks Alex ! This fixed the issue.
Considering we're getting notifications about Office 2010 officially going out of service / end of life at my company, I'm guessing Microsoft is either removing or ceasing to update 2010 modules. Since this seems to have happened after a recent Office update (happening to me as well on SW2020 with Office 2016 suddenly), I'd guess that the 2010 runtime compatibility broke and MS just doesn't care since it's obsolete software to them. And SolidWorks has probably been using 2010 runtime compatible code forever internally, with no need to update to newer Office runtime builds (until now).
Thank you Hal for the clarification. It is working now. I had no idea about 365 being imbedded into Win 10.
Hello I used to have the same issue . Now working fine once I installed office updates.
The AccessDatabaseEngine_x64.exe reinstall worked for me. I never had this issue until I upgraded to build 2004 for Windows. I have SW 2020 SP3 on Windows 10 Home.
This issue is a result of a conflict between SOLIDWORKS CAM and Office 365. This is logged in SPR 1193884.
Turn the SOLIDWORKS CAM addin off on start up and this goes away.
In some cases, I did have to modify install to remove SOLIDWORKS CAM completely.
Alternatively, the Access DB engine fix listed above works.
had to remove SW CAM completely, works fine now.
This is a windows update problem (Thanks Microsoft)
My VAR suggested the following
This issue is related to a particular Microsoft change and was raised as SPR 1193884. Fortunately, it is a quick resolution. To resolve, go to the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255 Click "Download" Make sure to select "AccessDatabaseEngine_x64.exe" and click "Next".
Install the update and it will fix the problem.
I have just found out that every time you update windows the problem returns, so save the file somewhere handy.
I hope this helps
Didn't work for me.
I tried to unclick the CAM add-in, but that message came up and I was unable to exit Solidworks normally.
Any other ideas?
Didn't work for me.
Is there a fix for this yet? This is nuts.I cannot download the x64 distributable because it says I have 32-bit Office junk installed. The 32 bit download starts to install and then just quits. I can't shut off CAM, either.
Come on, guys!
