We are rolling out the standard PDM system for our project, and everything seems to be working fine, but I had a question about checkout.
Specifically, because of the pendemic, most of us are working from home 2-3 days a week.
I can see a situation where (For example) a user is working on something on Monday at the office, and wants to keep it checked out for Tuesday at home.
Their PDM login is the same on both machines.
If I check out the part on Monday on machine 1, and at the end of the day I check it back in and keep the item checked out, what happens on Tuesday when I try to work on the part from machine 2?
The current version is on the PDM server, but can I check in/out the part from machine 2?
check outs are log-in AND computer specific
if they will be working from a different computer the next day, they will need to either remote desktop to the previous computer and check it in, or leave it checked in when they leave the office
