Hi, I would like to analize in COSMOS 2007 an assembly of
gear mechanism (gear and rack). I have made all the mates, which
are necessary between the parts, but when I started IntelliMotion
all the parts are scattering in all the directions. I have tried
several times between which parts to be the motion, but every time
it is the same and I could not understand where I am wrong.
Here is a picture of the assembly:

Thank you in advance!

You need to add a rack&pinion mate to couple the gears in this model (unless you want to rely on 3D contact, which will make for a slow solve time).
Then just add a motion to the driving gear (use the concentric mate constraining the gear to the part it's mounted in or add motion to a part and add a rotational motion to the gear).
I don't know the values of your limit mate, but this version was setup so that if you try to violate a limit mate (ie the motor is trying to push the model beyond the limit range) then the solver will stop automatically. So plan what input you need to get the desired motion relative to this.
This model should work pretty easily. Personally I don't recommend using the intellimotion builder. It is a legacy piece of code from a reduced capability version (called simply motion) and was not updated to reflect all the capabilities in the full product so you have limited input options. There are several tutorials in this version to help get you familiar with using the motion browser and the contextual interface. The help also has quite a bit of depth on the functionality.
Cheers,
Ian
