Hello,
I recently upgraded to Solidworks 2020 student edition from Solidworks 2018. The install was successful and seemed to be normal. However, the program is unusable for more than a couple of seconds. The program crashes whenever I open a previous model/assembly or try to make a new one. It also crashes randomly in the menus. I have no idea what to do as I have never had these issues on previous Solidworks versions.
Thanks
First of all, there are rarely crashes 'for no reason'.
Ok, now that I got that off my chest:
It sounds to me like you're having severe graphics card issues. Launch SolidWorks RX (hit the start button and type 'RX') and let it gather the information it needs. On the 'Diagnostics' tab, look at the first section. If it says 'Intel HD Graphics' or lists any other issues you should resolve those first. Report back here with the results and we can assist further.
