I have just seen another question of a person who created a multi-body part and now needs to know how to separate the parts out. This prompted the question for me as I have seen that many of you create Multi-body parts. Other than weldments which are multi-body parts, what is the advantage of crating a multi-body part? For years I have created each individual part and then placed it in an assembly to make sure everything fits and works. Then I learned to create virtual parts within an assembly so that I was able to verify the size and fit while creating the part. It is then easy to open / save as and you have the separate part for drawings. Without the manipulations that multi-body parts seem to have. So what am I missing?
