Jacksonville, FL SW User Group Forming

We have just submitted our request to form a Jacksonville, FL SW User Group, and we need to know who all of our Jacksonville users are out there. The 2 VARs in our area (ModernTech Mechanical and SolidExperts) should be letting their customers in our area know about the formation of our group, but I wanted to make sure those who live in Northeast Florida who are on the Forums know about it.

We will announce our first meeting (hopefully) in the coming weeks. Keep your eyes out!

Matt, I am brand new to Solidworks. I am working with the Stimulus Package that Solidworks came out with. I just attended a hands-on demo last Tuesday that ModernTech put on. I am considering purchasing a licence of Solidworks in the future. Do you have to be a full time user to join the users group?
I am currently unemployed, after 30 years, and I am trying to learn a new tool(Solidworks).

  Ira, you will probably get an answer later regarding your local user group, but you should know that the SolidWorks community is a very warm and welcoming community of enthusiastic users. Any SolidWorks users are welcome, and you will find the user group meetings very informative and fun.
  A good way to learn SolidWorks on your own is to use the SolidWorks tutorials. Good luck, and welcome to the SolidWorks community!

      We don't have any restrictions. Anyone who is interested in learning more about Solidworks is welcome, whether your a current, past, or future user. Another purpose of our group is to get to know our local Solidworks community, and provide the opportunity to network. You never know, this may prove helpful in discovering when SW job opportunities are available.
      
      David will be getting in touch with everyone soon, and I will be sure to post the date/time/location for our 1st meeting on this forum. We are looking at holding it at UNF, but nothing is set in stone at this point. Stay tuned.

Has anyone rekindled this in 6 years? I just started work here in JAX, and the number of users could easily justify a SWUG. Any progress? Pete B : Allentown PA has a great user group.
