Edit Material dialog - default appearance

Hi,

In the Appearance tab in the Edit Material dialog box, I have everything grayed out for selecting default appearance for a material - see attached. What's the trick to enable this?

Correct Answer

You need to copy the material to your custom library to modify it.

First create a new library, don't use "Custom Materials"

Then copy what you want to change to the new library.
