I need a macro to automate creation of view labels for weldment component views. The component views are drawing views showing a single body from a weldment. They must be labeled with certain cut list properties. Doing this manually is error-prone, time-consuming, and unforgiving of change. I need a macro that will allow me to select a face from the body shown in the component view (or somehow identify the body shown in the view), run the macro, and have it attach a note to the component view that displays info from that body's cut list properties, e.g. description and quantity.
I've looked from solutions but have found none. This one seemed close to what I'm looking for but the "correct answer" does not work from the drawing environment.
Any help would be enormously appreciated.
Thank you.
All you need to know is the cut list properties you want... Paste the text for the link into the note, making sure that the note is created inside the view boundary. If you create the note outside the boundary (attached to the sheet instead of the view) it will be blank. See below... Weldment cutlist link text is just pasted into the note. Once the note is created, you can move it wherever you want.

Assuming it's the same properties for every view, you can even just make a bunch of copies of the same note, then attach them to the appropriate view by right-click and choosing:
