This is the 2020 trial version. I had no problems in my old 2013 version (i no longer have access to that). HELP!!!
You don't need a drawing property linked to the Part property.

Did you try just typing a note and linking it to the material property?
No I opened the drawing template from the part. Ill try again.
Only set Custom Properties in part and assembly.
Delete the one you set in drawing.
Also change the Property name. Don't use what you put in Value as name.
Not sure why yours isn't working unless it has something to do with your installation being the trial version.

Some link them to part for PDM and ERP.

As Frederick Law said, it's for properties that are specific to the Drawing. Things like sheet name and sheet number are just a couple of examples. See that same blog post I linked to above, starting just above the section in the screenshot.
