I am unable to take the risk on downloading your file.
I received the same warning for both files, plus the step won't help here as Mr. Mather posted, we need to see the tree.
Can you post a screen shot of the tree?
Have you made a drawing of this part yet?
If so, there's an derived SM flat pattern config.
When this config is active, Flat-Pattern must be unsuppressed. If it isn't, then unsuppress it.
When the default config is active, Flat-Pattern must be suppressed.

Here is a screenshot of the tree
No idea why you're getting a virus notice. Maybe cuz it's zipped. Try Grabcad just uploaded it there

Didn't make drawing of part yet. Didn't suppress anything. Using default config. I did add this part to a larger assembly though, but why should it bother me to flatten?
Flattens fine for me?
Where is your feature roll-up bar positioned?
Are all of your sketches fully defined?

1. roll up bar all the way down - except flatten
2. All my sketches fully defined.
1. Is that a hint? What do you observe if you pull down the roll up bar one step lower?
2. Not on the *.sldprt file that you attached here???
1. As I wrote to Kevin since flatten is greyed out it somehow made sense to me the bar is supposed to be up. Oops. my bad!
2. Yep, you're right. Not fully defined.
I guess my hint in original response was a little too subtle.
When I wrote that it worked fine for me and then asked that specific question, I would have thought that first reaction would be to test it out.
Why would I be asking such a question?
Always best to learn to fish rather than being handed the fish, scaled, filleted and fried.
*smacks forehead* Nah, I should've figured it out with your first comment. I actually rolled it all the way down before figuring it'd flatten the part once I did that, once I saw it didn't happen I just rolled it back up. I used to think the "flatten button" and rolling all the way down is the same thing from some reason. Oopsie daisy. Misread how to software works. Thank you

I missed it too, please mark Mr. Mather's reply as correct as I believe it first addressed your issue.
