I'm trying to release drawings, but properties won't retain what I've chosen

I'm trying to release a drawing. Our PDM has rules in place for various data card entries and won't let it push to the next level without all the fields filled in (a safe documentation feature I suppose). The problem I'm having is that I fill the fields in when I have the Drawing checked out. Then when I hit save and check the properties again, the fields are empty. Again, I can't push this DRW file along without those field populated. Is there some other feature that could be depopulating it when I hit save? Even if I try to skip hitting rebuild or save and just direct checkin and release, it still de-populates the properties fields? I'm attaching pics for clarity hopefully.

Hitting this button, bring up these fields...

Hi Chris,

Can you try closing the file and while it is checked out, edit the data card fields from file explorer? After editing, hit save on the data card, click off the file and back onto it. Does your added values retain at that point? If yes, check it in and check the card again.

Also make sure to check if there are differences between the @ and sheet tabs on the datacard as well.

That seemed to work...but it only seemed that way. When I edited it via the file explorer, the values remained. I checked the part in and then tried to promote it, but it gave me the same error as above (the 4 variables as ""). I thought maybe I messed up the procedure. I tried again, and this time I made sure to hit rebuild and save from the PDM. I immediately checked the properties after the rebuild and the properties were still there. Then I hit save and it loses the properties. I tried again and this time after rebuild, I just straight checked in and they still get cleared out. It seems like the save function is overwriting my properties. I'm stumped?!?

Chris do you have to input that info my hand? Are they linked to a custom property field?

If so you could input them that way and it will push it to your data card. Also does the part or assembly push the info to the drawing? Also it depends on how the card is setup. It sounds like this is a read only line that get inputted by another process.

Are these fields inherited from the part/assembly via PDM? If so, then these will be overwritten to blank if the part/assembly has been created without these fields filled out.
