I would like to make a SolidWorks "In Process" drawing from a .stl file that is generated in Esprit 2018 after running machine simulation for specific machining operations. The .stl file has roughly 152,000 triangle and takes for ever to open in SolidWorks as a solid body. I also can't save the .stl as a .sldprt without SolidWorks 2020 crashing. I've talked with my local reseller and have gotten no where. I have a tough time believing that SolidWorks really struggles with this type of file. I can't simply configure a different solid model due to some of Esprit's unique tools paths as I can't actually measure or know the size and shape of some of the machined features based on a certain percentage of tool engagement into the machined features. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks
