multibody master model

Sorry about the title. It doesn't seem to embody my question very well. I want to wind up with parts that have multiple bodies. Starting from a Split feature that results in 4 bodies, I want 2 parts with 2 bodies each.

Split doesn't seem to allow multiple bodies to be sent to a single part.

The only thing I can think of is to split the 4 bodies without publishing the bodies to parts. Then make 2 new parts with Insert Part, and delete 2 bodies in each of the new parts.

Any better ideas? Is there anything that was actually meant to do this?

Ok, in the course of asking the question, I figured it out. This is why the Insert Into New Part option is there. You can select multiple bodies from the Bodies folder, and save them to a single file. Learned something today. Or maybe a relearned it after forgetting it.
