After upgrading to SW 2020, the first file I opened was an assembly created in SW 2016. In the graphics area, I'm not able to select individual parts and see they are highlighted. In fact, nothing is highlighted in the model tree. Selecting in the model tree highlights the part in the graphics area, which is what I expect to happen. I also want to this behavior to happen the other way, to pick (select) in the graphics area and the model tree highlights along with the graphical part. I've tried toggling the select over geometry option, that's not it. I'm able to draw a crossing window, and select MULTIPLE parts, and they correctly highlight in the graphics area, but I'm just interested in selecting just 1 part and having it highlight.

I'd also like to have dynamic dimensions turned on (or be able to easily toggle) in the assembly, so that when I mouse over a feature such as an edge, the feature highlights and also gives me a length dimension in the lower right hand corner of my window. I need this so I don't have to use the measure command explicitly. It seems the edge dynamic highlighting is turned on if I open one of the constituent parts from my assembly, but the dynamic dimensioning isn't present.
