I have made a small program that save the active document and give it a name like 002345 and the next one will be 002346. If there is interest in this it would be very simple to make it ad the name to the properties as well.
This is my first program so there is probably some bugs in it I have also included the code so if you want to customize the program feel free. When you run the exe file it will download shoes (shoooes.net).
I am also working on making ruby library for the SolidWorks API so that I can easily make my own ruby programs for SW and finally make a web based application for interactive design using ruby on rails
