I need to re-create the middle feature onto another model. But I have no idea how to create this.
I have the original stp file, but cannot dissect how it was sketched.
Is it a revolve? A spline? A sweeping cut?
Please help!

I'd say they're helical sweeps, judging from the use of a ratchet/pawl mechanism. Both the up and down surfaces.

That was my thought as well, just by looking at them.
However, upon examination, those faces are planar. The fact that they are trimmed by a cone makes them look helical.

You're right. They are planar. Makes it easy then.

I don't know design intent but making these surfaces as angled planes might create undesirable wear patterns as the device rotates.
