My organisation is in the process of transitioning from Microsoft Office to G-Suite (Google Docs and Sheets). I note that Microsoft Word and Excel are listed as system requirements for Solidworks.
Will Solidworks run on a machine that does not have Word and Excel? If so, what features of Solidworks will be unavailable by not having access to Word or Excel?
We will be running Google Drive File Stream (which enables drive-letter access to Google documents) and Google Sheets can edit and save Word and Excel files so I am hopeful that at least some of the functions that generate or use Word or Excel docs will still work between Solidworks and Google.
Does anyone have this experience? Or even just a definitive list of what Solidworks uses MS office for?
Thanks
Neil
