Do we have a option to Copy & Paste sketches with Reference in Solidworks?
I like to copy few entities of sketch from one to another sketch and want it to be pasted with Reference.
This is something which is in AutoCAD. Thanks!
One option is to use convert entities if both sketch plane are parallel to each other.
Second option is to use derived sketch. This can be used in any orientation but you will get complete sketch.
You can copy an entire sketch and paste it onto a new plane/planar surface, and it will keep references. When you paste it, it will give you an option delete dangling references or keep them (references it couldn't find after the paste option).
You do as Deepak says and run convert entities (2018 SOLIDWORKS Help - Convert Entities )
Or you can use a derived sketch (2018 SOLIDWORKS Help - Derived Sketches )
I copy & paste sketches all the time. But have yet to figure out how to copy and past a sketch with a common 0,0 point.
Most often I find that I have to add two dimensions to locate the pasted sketch. If the sketch has to re rotated 90, then have to go edit vertical/hor to perpendicular/normal.
Try converting your sketch into blok and then you can copy paste and keep them linked.
Rajiv, this is 3rd option.
