I have a fairly powerful gaming pc, Ryzen 7 3700x 8 core 3.6 GHz processor, 32GB ram, NVIDIA gtx 2070 super video card and an SSD drive, yet solidworks 2018 constantly freezes up on simple tasks.

I am new to solidworks, so it is a fresh installation in the default path with default settings, and i have so far noticed such freezing when loading images, moving points along a style spline and a few other basic things.

any help is greatly appreciated.
