Unfortunately, using SOLIDWORKS on a secondary monitor is not supported if it is not the same make and model as the first monitor.
This is patently untrue. I have been using SW with multi-head config for the last ten years and there has never been any sort of requirement wrt/ monitors having to be the same.
As stated, make sure that SW is set to use the correct GPU.
My information from SOLIDWORKS from the past was that it may work on multiple monitors but they are not supported if the are not the same. After your response I looked back into this and reached out to SOLIDWORKS and they said there is no restrictions on if the two are the same monitor or not. Good catch and I'm glad I ave the right information going forward.
Ideally, SOLIDWORKS should run on the primary monitor that you have setup in windows display settings. It is good if you have the same monitors in your setup as the capabilities of each monitor will be the same. These issues however are not from SOLIDWORKS, but a combination of graphics driver, monitor driver and the operating system. In the above case it is Intel Integration GPU drivers..which we don't support in many scenarios.
It sounds as if the external monitor is not using the graphics card. Try upgrading the graphics driver and seeing if that helps. Unfortunately, using SOLIDWORKS on a secondary monitor is not supported if it is not the same make and model as the first monitor.
