what is the difference of "Com's SldWorks XXX type library" reference and ".net's solidworks.interop.sldworks" reference.

I want to connect solidworks. I find there are two ways to connect.

1. refer COM's SldWorks XXX type library and use getactiveobject() method.

2. refer .NET's solidworks.interop.sldworks.dll and use getactiveobject() method.

What's the difference? Which way is better?
