When trying to open a step file assembly made by steptools.com, I get the following error.

When trying to import a step file assembly created by steptools.com CAD program, Solidworks begins importing some paths and then I get the following error.

After I click ok, Solidworks continues with the import and the progress bar continues to move from side to side, however nothing actually happens. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm using Solidworks 2018 SP5.

My colleague is able to import the file without any problem using Solidworks 2018.

Correct Answer

"Tools > Settings > Import > turn off 3D Interconnect (or on if already off)" and try the import again.
