Not sure if I'm the only one who cant handle this, but this drives me crazy. When I place angular dimension the extension line is actual an arc.
Is there a way to have straight line as marked on red?
I would say no. It doesn't change with any drafting standard.
For ANSI, you can add a shoulder, but the arc is still there.
I tried the bend leaders but it's not helpful
in tight areas it looks like this:
I think NX spoiled me too much ThanksKevin Chandler
I don't think this is possible in the settings. SOLIDWORKS follows the standards for angles and arcs as specified in ASME Y14.5M 2004 Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Josh Helman I think you are right, however I wish SW gives you a little bit more freedom. I'm all in for standards but sometimes you simply want to keep the drawing nice and clean and with this ark I can't place a dimension where I wan't. I know this is not an excuse, but I don't think CAD/CAM software should force you to use only standards. Each shop has some variations to ASME and with SW it's just a pain to work with sometimes.
