We should be pressing Dassault, including not only customers but VARS, to defer renewals during this shutdown.

Most of the companies you are working for may be stretched a bit thin due to the Covid-19 lockdown.  Some of you even pay for your own license.

For those that don't know, to renew SolidWorks in the past, if your subscription lapsed for any amount of time you would pay a $500 reinstatement fee, the next year's maintenance, and then you're back up and running.

Now with full-backdating it's like a drug dealer charging you for the drugs you missed while you were in rehab after you relapse.  Imagine.

Full backdating is paying for goods and services that you didn't use.

Now factor in the shutdown.  Those being billed for renewal are suffering an additional blow to what is most likely a slowdown or complete halt in their business.

It would be the right thing to do to defer all subscription payments for the duration of the shutdown and a few months past as a gesture of appreciation to your customer Dassault.  I don't think this is asking too much considering how much money we've all spent on your products and how much money many of us have made you without a cent in return.
