I seem to remember being able to edit my Design Tables as recently as a couple of months ago, but now any attempt to edit them eventually hangs up Solidworks. The symptoms are strange. When I add a Design Table to a part now nothing shows up under Tables on the Configuration Tab. However the Design Table icon is grayed out on the tables tool bar and under Insert-->Tables, which would seem to indicate the table was successfully created. I can access the newly created table by going to Edit-->Design Table--Edit Table. The table opens and I can manipulate the data in the table, but I when I click outside the table to close it the table goes away but the green check mark remains. At this point all I can do is End Task on Solidworks. I can't delete the Design Table because it doesn't show up anywhere where I can get to it to delete it.
I've seen some posts about indicating that my problems may be due to a compatibility issue between Excel for Office 365 and Solidworks, but these posts were dated last fall and the tech note they point back to is from 2018. I'm hoping something has been done since then to address the incompatibility because Microsoft is pushing us all onto the 365 platform, whether we like it or not. I'm using Solidworks 2018 student/academic version that I got through my school and the latest version of Excel. (ver: Microsoft Excel for Office 365 MSO (16.0.12624.20422) 32-bit). Both are installed locally. (I'm not using the web version of Excel.)
Is there a fix for my version of Solidworks? (Or could my problem be something else entirely?)
