Did you turn off 3D Interconnect before opening the file?
And honestly, I like to keep 3D interconnect on and then immediately dissolve the feature to break the link.
This is because the 3Dinterconnect uses a different algorithm for import translation than the non-3Dinterconnect import does.
I cannot remember where I read that, but I do know it to be true, as I have tested out translation with it on and with it off, and in some cases got a VERY different result, with the better result ALWAYS being with 3d interconnect on and then immediately dissolving the feature to that all links are broken.

Turning Interconnect off is set in our installation image and it's the first thing I check when people are having problems. We absolutely do not use 3d Interconnect. Must make sure that the other CAD system is supported. Depends on use case, I would not consider it an "Always have on" portion of the software.

I probably shouldn't have jumped on you like that. It's a raw spot for me. 3D Interconnect doesn't work work in our case, will not read the files saved in version 2019 of the other CAD. I would think in most cases its good to use.
Its not a problem. I just assumed that it was a misunderstanding of how I phrased it. I have no need for a link to a STP file or an IGES file, as these are dumb solids and even if things were updated, Solidworks would likely not see links between Surface A on STP file 1 part and Surface A on STP file 1 with revision A. Therefore, updating the link to a new, updated STP file is just as good as simply translating in a new, separate STP file and replacing it in my systems.
I do like the translator though, so I leave it on and dissolve it immediately.
I don't seem to be able to create a screen shot to show you what I am seeing. Print screen seem to make the RMB dropdown disappear. Anyway, the dissolve Feature option does not seem to be there. everything else that I see in your screen shot is there. Invert Selection, followed by Go To... then the file name and so on. No Dissolve Feature. I am using SW2020 SP0.1 Standard.
