Hi all,

I'm trying to create an external excel spreadsheet that can edit dimensions of an assembly.

The assembly I have in mind has about 20 parts, and a couple sub assemblies.  When creating the top assembly's design table, none of the part dimensions populate the table when I try to "auto-create." When I try to "show feature dimensions" in the top assembly nothing appears either.  I'm not sure the way part design tables are created can be applied to assemblies.

I saw a suggestion that said to create non driving sketches on top of the parts in the top assembly.  Does that mean I need to re sketch each part to have editable dimensions?

Also, is it possible to link a shareable external spreadsheet that changes the dimensions? As in one where you simply open the excel file, change the dimensions and it'll automatically rebuild the parts the next time it's opened by anyone?

Thanks in advance.
