Hello everyone, how can I get SOLIDWORKS2020 Document Manager API to get the document version of SOLIDWORKS? Can you provide an example of VAB?
Check this: Ultimate Guide For Getting Started With Document Manager
Look at the Document Manager API Help file for GetVersion method of the ISwDMDocument interface. They have a VB.Net example there that you should be able to convert to VBA.
Also, please be aware that you have to get a additional key from SolidWorks to use the API. I don't understand why they handle it differently then other API products. The key is free and I believe that you have to renew it every year if you upgrade Solidworks. It takes some time to get (like a day).
Honestly, I did a little work with document manager and abandoned it. The document manager was not worth the hassle for me.
The biggest advantage of Document Manager API is that you can get info and even modify some things in the SOLIDWORKS file without having to open it in SOLIDWORKS. So it works much faster.
