If the hole is just called for being M10 that means it will be M10 course thread = thread pitch 1.50, tap drill 8.5
If a fine thread pitch is required it would call for M10 fine 1.25 thread pitch
If extra fine pitch is required it would call for M10 extra fine 1.00 thread pitch
