Dear All,
hope you are All well and healthy.
I have a huge problem to join the halves together, because they have each a different thickness.

Hi Mark,
Thank you so much for your quick response and help.
One more question, how can I transfer the infill structure from one half of the bone to the other half and join then the two halves together ?
Therefore, I would be extremely pleased if you could help me again.
Thank you very much!
Larisa
Larisa,
If you could tell me a little more, generally, what you are trying to do? Are you trying to create a single thin wall solid of the femur? Where you able to open the file I posted for you? In that version of your file, I shelled the second half and then used Combine (Insert>features>Combine) to join the two Solid Body halves together.
Hi, Mark , Hi Paul,
thank you very much for your help !!!!
I think there was a misunderstanding…
In Fig. A I have edited the bone half with a polygon pattern (infill structure). This worked well. I only have a problem with the other bone half (see Fig B). It’s the same bone only cut in the middle. In this bone half I can not insert the polygon pattern. How can I fix this? A copy of the pattern sketch (Fig.A) onto the bone half (Fig.B) does not solve the problem. Then I would like to connect both halves of the bone with the polygon pattern.
I have tried a several times, but unfortunately it didn't worked out.
Therefore, I would be very pleased, if you cloud help me again.
Thank you very much!
Larisa

Hello Larisa,..
"Then I would like to connect both halves of the bone with the polygon pattern.
I have tried a several times, but unfortunately it didn't worked out."
So, you're get a "error" attempting to cut the hex pattern? And if you do, what does the error message say or does it just return with no message?
It's most likely a geometry error so, what you can try is move the hex pattern a little and try again?
BTW, one note about your scanned femur,.. it had errors so, I ran Diagnostics and Repair. I'd suggest repairing as well and that may help?
..
Hello, Paul,
Thank you for your quick response and help.
I have finally managed to have the fill structure on both halves.
You were right, it was the geometry. The edges of the hexagon pattern should not be on the edges of the bones, so thats why it didn't work the whole time
Thanks again for your help.
Larisa
Hi Larisa,
I'm not sure what the other shell thickness of the second half you want to be? You will have a very hard time shelling this part to be thicker than .09mm (because it is a converted mesh model and has a very small rate of curvature areas all over the part). In any case. If you want a thicker shell on either half of it, you'll have to create some surfaces manually and then do a manual shell (surface subtract or cuts etc.) I Shelled your second half the same thickness as your first half and then combined the two together. The file I modified is too big to attach so it is here.
