Templates need work, or do they not

So following tips from VAR to exclude all old templates and generate new ones from scrap in the running version of SolidWorks. This should eliminate problems that I am having. But this turned out to be a lot of work.

During re-creating my forming tools, I was surprised to see the properties of the planes in the original SolidWorks 2019 forming tools:

These forming tools were installed during installation of SolidWorks 2019.

Majority of Design library, toolbox parts etc. content also have file origins of more then 20 years ago.

So how serious should we re-create all our templates every year? Should we re-create all our data every 5 years?

Is there any long term SolidWorks user or administrator that re-create all these files and data?

(re-creating templates and files didn't consistently solve my problems, of course....)
