Handling model references while working from home

I brought my work computer home and I'm using a VPN to access my work's server.  Solidworks is locally on my work computer.  I'd like to be able to work on drawings and assemblies without it being super clunky (I save all models in an organized system on the server and I'm not using any PDM.)

If I save a copy of a drawing or assembly to my local to work on it, all the references are still on the server, so it's still clunky.  If I bring all the referenced files to my local, it'll be tedious to put everything back later (I'll do this if I have to though.)  Do you guys have any ideas to work around this or any way to make this any less tedious?
